BREAKING NEW GROUND TO REVEAL THE ESSENCE OF PINOT NOIR
The history of Maison Mumm is rooted in exceptional terroirs and an iconic grape variety: Pinot Noir, renowned for its bold character. Powerful yet elegant, it plays a central role in the House’s historic blends.
This cuvée is at major part a Pinot Noir, with 65% primarly selected from the Montagne de Reims, home to Maison Mumm’s historic Grand Cru plots; combining the suppleness of Verzenay & the balance of Ambonnay as well as from the Vallée de la Marne, where the elegance of Aÿ and Avenay brings a delicate touch to the wine.
The remaining 35% comes from Chardonnay of the Côte des Blancs, showcasing the finesse of Cramant and refinement of Avize.

For the first time, harvest dates were set individually for each village and each grape variety to better account for different ripening rythms. Picking began on September 19th and extended through October 2, under mostly favorable weather conditions apart from a few scattered showers.
Rarely, in the memory of Champenois has such balance of fruit ripeness been seen. The summer conditions naturally allowed for a remarkable concentration of the grapes’ components.
