WHAT WAS IT LIKE CREATING THE TRACK AND MUSIC VIDEO WITH G.H.MUMM?

I have been working on my new album for the last three years and I wanted to challenge myself by creating something different to what people might expect of me. ‘Dangerous’ is a real departure from the sound everyone knows me for; it has a different tempo too. I wanted to make a statement video and with the help and investment from G.H.MUMM, it became possible. I believe that you need to be innovative and that you cannot succeed without being brave enough to take risks, and having complete commitment and passion for what you do. It’s great to work with a brand that shares my vision.

WHAT WAS IT LIKE WORKING WITH G.H.MUMM AMBASSADOR AND FORMULA ONE DRIVER, ROMAIN GROSJEAN?

Romain is a real professional. Although our day jobs are very different, it was amazing to see the similarities between us – the passion, the dedication and the determination to win. Despite beating him in the race, we got on great which made the celebration even more fun!

HOW DID YOU ENJOY THE ICONIC FORMULA ONE PODIUM MOMENT IN YOUR MUSIC VIDEO FOR ‘DANGEROUS’?

I get to live out my fantasies in this video. I think it is every guy’s dream to have a winning moment on a Formula One podium and mine was truly amazing.

It's the ultimate celebratory feeling – you feel as if you are on top of the world and of course, spraying champagne is a symbolic part of that moment. Everyone is going crazy and sharing in that moment of celebration with you.

WHAT HAS BEEN THE MOMENT IN YOUR CAREER THAT CHANGED YOUR LIFE FOREVER?

It was a huge challenge but great victory to make dance music cross over and have the popularity and radio air time of rock, hip-hop and pop music. For me, breaking America was the ultimate achievement. It was “I Got a Feeling” and “Sexy Bitch” that were the turning points. Those two songs were when dance music hit pop radio and “Memories” and “Titanium” followed. But “I Got A Feeling” was when American radio seemed to say, wow, okay, this is actually working and then everybody changed their format and not just me, but electronic artists and producers got their shot.

DO YOU THINK YOUR ‘DARE TO WIN’ ATTITUDE IS HOW YOU HAVE ACHIEVED ALL YOUR SUCCESS?

Yes, definitely – along with passion, hard work and determination. I really love my job and I always wanted my job as a DJ to have the same meaning and respect as performers and creators in any genre. That was not something easy but I was determined and I believed I could do it, so I kept trying and pushing myself to make it work. Success isn’t the end result; to me it’s the journey. It's not about the fame or the money; when I started there was none of that. It’s about the passion and the commitment.
