‘MAROONED’ – CORDON CLUB MEMBER ED STAFFORD CONTINUES TO PUSH HUMAN BOUNDARIES IN THE WORLD’S MOST REMOTE REGIONS

21 January 2016

Cordon Rouge Club member Ed Stafford is currently filming his next television series of the critically acclaimed, survival documentary ‘Marooned’. ‘Marooned’ will once again see Ed deposited in a remote pocket of the world with nothing but a camera, emergency satellite phone and emergency medical kit. With only his bare hands as means of survival, Ed will be forced to use all his resources at his disposal to overcome the forces of nature and survive in these lonely, hostile conditions.

For this series, Ed has already both filmed and survived in Patagonia - a beautiful yet unpredictable environment made considerably more dangerous without the resources usually required to endure in such a setting. Ed was in complete isolation after being dropped by helicopter in the barren terrain. The few glimpses we have seen so far reveal Ed consuming bugs, grasshoppers and rodents in an effort to survive. Patagonia is also renowned for its unpredictable weather patterns. Despite being in South America it does not share its sub-tropical climate and visitors are instructed to prepare themselves for a whole plethora of weather conditions; from sun and rain to wind and snow.

Not that Ed isn’t used to the unexpected! As a true Cordon Rouge Club adventurer willing to achieve both unbelievable and unexpected feats, Ed has previously been forced to eat a raw gecko as a last resort for nourishment and even swim in shark infested waters to catch a fish. He will stop at nothing to survive and pushes human capabilities and boundaries to the limit - simply to keep himself alive and prosper in an environment none of us could even contemplate.

The next series is due to air later this year on the Discovery Channel. Since 95,000,000 viewers tuned in globally to his last series, the next is sure to be an instant hit. Ed himself notes that in his ‘humble opinion, the best is undoubtedly yet to come’.

We wish him continued success in his current and forthcoming survival missions.
