12 JUNE 2015
Cordon Rouge Club Member Sarah Outen MBE set out from Tower Bridge in April 2011 on her London2London: Via the World expedition. Her goal was to journey eastwards around the northern hemisphere by rowing boat, bike and kayak. 4 years on and Sarah is still going. Various weather events have forced breaks, changes in the route and equipment - including the use of a sail on her kayak in the Alaskan paddling leg.
On Thursday 14 May 2015 she set off from Cape Cod, USA to row 3000 miles across the North Atlantic Ocean to the UK. This is the final leg of her four and a half year expedition which will see her cover 25,000 miles around the world.
Besides getting home safely, Sarah is raising money for four charities: Coppafeel!, WaterAid, the MND Association and the Jubilee Sailing Trust.
